Ben Tayas is a Boston-Based photographer. Starting off as just a passion has transformed into a desire to photograph authentic moments in everyday life. From street photography to portraits of strangers to anything that catches his eye, there is nothing he will not try to capture. For every unique instance, there is an equally unique emotion, a feeling that is only understood by the one who experiences it. Ben’s mission is to seize these emotions and spread them to whomever strives to find meaning in the mundane.
Portraits
How someone presents themself is an unadulterated form of self identity. The deepest essence of individuality is the true beauty of being human. Everyone differs in personality, interests, characteristics, or values, and it is within these differences we form the purest connections and relations. Ben seeks to find these varied identities and highlight the wonders of self expression.
Landscapes
Under the pressures of life, it is easy to forget the mystifying world we call home. From towering infrastructure to thoughtful architecture to natural wonders given to us by nature, there is no reason we should overlook our surroundings. In order to appreciate every aspect, Ben frames his photos to emphasize its many features.

Within their lives, most people are focused on where they need to be and what they need to do. The beauty of life could be missed in the midst of chaos. It is important to take a step back from the monotony and peak in-between the cracks. There, we find the moments we emotionally connect to. Ben makes sure these moments do not go unnoticed, turning a simple occurrence, into memory worth while.
Black & White
While some may think black & white makes things dull, Ben believes it allows the viewer to focus on what is important. When the bright vibrant colors of life are stripped, all we have left to appreciate is the subject matter. Form takes front stage, and the viewer has a better understanding of what is in focus.
